What are injectables?

Injectables are non-invasive procedures performed by a plastic surgeon to help reduce wrinkles and frown lines. There are a variety of FDA-approved products on the market that are made to address different facial concerns. From Dysport injections to reduce wrinkles to fillers like Restylane to smooth away wrinkles around your face and nose, you can look years younger in no time with one of these products.

How long does it take to see results?

Since each product is different in its goals and composition and each patient is different, there is no set length of time that it will take to see results from injectables. But, generally speaking, Dysport or Botox results can begin to be seen in a matter of 5 to 7 days, with up to two weeks to see final results.  Filler treatments take effect immediately, although it may take 7-10 days for any swelling to go down to see the final end-result.

What is the downtime expected with injectables?

Unlike other plastic surgery procedures, which may require a patient to take off time from work, injectable procedures can be done in a matter of minutes. That’s why injectables like Botox and Dysport are often referred to as “lunchtime procedures”. You can immediately return to normal activities following your procedure, but it’s generally recommended that you wait 24-48 hours to do any intense physical activity to minimize any swelling or bruising that may occur.
