Ladner Facial Plastic Surgery

For people who are looking to get rid of frown lines and wrinkles and don’t necessarily want to have full-blown plastic surgery, there is the option of having an injectable treatment. Botox was the household name of choice for this type of procedure, but now there are many other products on the market that can get the job done, such as Dysport. It is an FDA-approved prescription injection for moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows. So, which one is better for you? Let’s take a look…

Botox vs. Dysport

While there are small variations between the products due to their active ingredient, they both do tend to work the same. But, since everyone is different, some people may have a better success rate with one product over another.

One minor difference in the two products is that you can typically begin to see the effects of Dysport in 2-3 days versus 3-5 days with Botox. But with both products, you can expect the results to last for three to four months. They actually will last even longer because during that time you’re not only treating the current wrinkles, but also preventing new ones from forming.

Dysport has changed its dilution recommendations from the time it first came out to avoid the product reaching other parts of the face when it’s used. This improves its effectiveness. Patients can be confident now that when they use Dysport it will only hit the targeted areas and they will typically see results a bit quicker than when using Botox.
