If the plastic surgeon you’re considering shows you before and after photos that make you cringe, this is obviously not a good match for you. If a surgeon can show you pictures of a patient who had similar issues as you do and was able to correct them beautifully, then you have a winner. Even if the issues were not similar but the end product was still aesthetically pleasing, you can keep this surgeon on your list.
Does the surgeon answer all of your questions, especially regarding recovery time? All of your questions should be answered to your satisfaction. If you’re still confused after speaking to a plastic surgeon or feel as though you’re not getting the whole picture when it comes to the surgery and recovery, then you should move on.
Is the office clean? Think about it. If a doctor can’t keep his waiting room and office clean, what does that say about the rest of his practice? Cleanliness is crucial when you’re talking about surgery. You want all the instruments to be sterile and the environment in which the procedure is going to be performed to be spotless.
Do you feel comfortable with the surgeon? After meeting for a consultation, decide if the surgeon makes you feel comfortable. Remember, he or she will be doing surgery on your face. That’s a big deal! You want someone who is courteous, gentle, and caring.
